Doctored Locks [12 Jul 2005|02:48pm]

[ mood | impressed ]

i just ordered a bunch of hair from this site http://drlocks.net/
their prices are good and they have really amazing customer service (esp. a girl named Sarah)
the site has been a bit glitchy but they work fast to fix it.
shipping prices aren't bad and they take paypal.

so, for people who can't get synthetic hair in the colours they want, this site is pretty good.

i love giving praise to people who deserve, and this girl (sarah) does. not only did she call me (with permission) to tell me that their site had a glitch, she emailed me when it was fixed, she called me to tell me that one colour was out of stock and asked if i would want to wait a week or pick a different one, and she described the colours better than the chart. not to mention the fact that she was really nice to me the entire time.
for me, customer service usually makes or breaks a deal and this was definitely a good experience.

keep in mind that i haven't actually received my hair yet so, uh, don't blame me if shipping takes a long time.
i just thought that i'd make a post because i had so much trouble trying to buy hair online.

I currently have black hair (dyed). I want a change. I've never bleached my hair. I'm planning on having it professionally done because I could easily fuck it up in seconds. I don't know what colors to go with. I was just going to go back dark brown with a bit of red highlights but thats kind of boring. Any suggestions?

And whats the process they do to get the black out?

gentle bleach [04 Jul 2005|10:52pm]

[ mood | surprised ]

i normally use L'Image Maxi Blonde to bleach my hair, but the store was out. so i picked up the Garnier Intense Bleach Creme and you know what? its really gentle. this is probably the softest my hair has ever been directly after bleaching.

personally, i like the harsher stuff, but i know a lot of people are nervous about the damage bleach can do.
the process time is only about 20-30 minutes and my hair seems pretty white (granted, i am a natural blonde)

so, there it is. gentle bleach.

Hi! im alex, i just joined about.......hmmmmm 39 seconds ago. I guess the only way to say hi is to describe my style and ideal look. Here I go:
I like to play with hair styles and make up of the 1920's, some of them are so extreme, they're classy. I love bright lipstick and eyeliner. Eversince I was little I hated anything sheer, when i buy something, I wanna see it, not a see-through version of it. I used to be so shy about everything, now wearing something absurd dosnt even cross my mind. next fall, Im going to the fashion institute of technology in new york to study fine arts, so the change and environment will definitly effect my style. expect many more posts from me after the move! My style icon, dosnt really exist. Margot Tenenbaum from the Royal tenenbaums, Im in love with the hair....the eyeliner....that coat! Im getting that coat one of these days! My favorite look is that whole broken down dolly sorta thing. ya know, like "im so fabulous, i cant brush my hair or wash my face, but i can put on this silk nightie and diamonds and pearls". i like the irony in it, i dont really know what you'd call it, but i love it.

okay, so there isnt much activity going on here, but i was hoping this might help.

i was thinking of having make-up challenges.
a picture would be posted and we'd have to try to copy the makeup in it.
there are no prizes yet, but who knows, maybe there will be someday.

sounds kind of lame, but it might be fun.

would anyone be willing to participate?

(ignore the retarded hand with dye still on it)

so, now it`s faded, almost back to blonde. but a bit still redish, pink. does anyone know any at-home ways to fade the color, or get it out completeley?

&how much is a color rinse @ a salon?

thanks, guys ! ♥

has anyone ever tried a toner for blonde hair?
i've seen the Manic Panic Virgin Snow but i don't know if it works. its a light purple, like it should be, i'm just worried that theres a little too much pigment in it for bleached hair.
my hair is pretty blondish white, but after a few weeks my freshly bleached out roots turn brassy. i used to use a violet tinted shampoo and conditioner but its a little too expensive. my plan is to periodically use the MP toner to boost it, but it'd like to know if anyone has any experience with it before i use it.

WHY DID THEY HAVE TO DISCONTINUE THE "SILVER" SHAMPOO?
pharmacy cheap. hmph.
